Logo animation and Kinetic typography
A particularly challenging project since I hadn’t opened After Effects before, the process of creating mood boards and story boards really helped. The assistance of the digital instructor, Lodi Paul, was great in making the introduction simple and less daunting. The animated logo was from Bravo design, a packaging design company and was made up of a raven, holding a flag, while riding a unicycle. Easy, right?
The typography portion was comprised of their catchphrase and other key values from their website description. There was a lot that needed to be done but taking the time to understand the tools and functions was beneficial to completing the task. I was grateful for the extra few days allowed for this project since it gave me a chance to focus on learning at a steady pace without feeling overly rushed in just trying to finish.
While I had always enjoyed challenging myself in different aspects of life, I hadn't really expanded further than the digital programs I knew well, and since I had a focus on packaging, didn't have much of a need for a motion graphics tool. But there's something exciting behind being able to get something to move, appear or simply rotate through a few guided clicks. So I found myself engaging with the program like a kid in a candy store, I just wanted to use all of the tools and resources available.
Fortunately, I didn't.
As a generally independent person, learning to ask for and accept help was a personal challenge I needed to overcome and am grateful for opportunities like this to do it.
